Mind you it looks like a general "blurb" for a variety of Acronis products so. under the " What exactly will happen, if I don't install the new build?" part of the article. in the scary email it gives a link to thisĪnd they mention that if the new build is not installed you won't be able to log into your acronis account (which would be bad since I wouldn't be able to manage my Acronis 2017 True Image say to reinstall it for example ), it says " Perpetual license activation (countdown of 30 days will begin, after which all product functions will stop working, not only listed on this page).". I'm hoping that it doesn't affect me regardless since I don't do the cloud based image saves but. I tried the download page and it's the exact same file as the one the online Acronis account website type thing gives as far as the "download and run this file" type thing (haven't tried my luck with the ISO download yet). Thanks so much for your quick reply Steve :). Is it just me or is anyone else encountering this issue? the other strange thing is that Acronis continues to insist it's up to date in the " account" window in the Acronis program when it is launched. and when I launch the program itself, Acronis True Image 2017 still claims it's running build 8058 despite the fact I downloaded the file for build 8065 (and yep I'm sure it was the 8065 build download I double checked it). launched Acronis True Image, it asked me to log into my online Acronis account, which I did. rebooted the PC as the program asked me to do. I installed this file (it asked me to uninstall my current version of Acronis which I did, and then reinstall using the file downloaded). I log into my acronis account online, it offers a download for build 8065 (I haven't tried the ISO download and installing via DVD/CD yet, did the other download it offers the application one, "AcronisTrueImage2017_is"

Like a lot of people (I'm guessing) I got the scary email from Acronis today (January 28th 2022) indicating Acronis needed to be updated to the latest build or it would stop working. I have been using Acronis True Image 2017 (perpetual license) faithfully to do a manual backup every 3 months and it normally checks for an update when it runs so I assumed it would download the latest build, 8065, which is apparently necessary for Acronis to work (I don't do online cloud backups if that makes a difference, manual backups stored on the computer's hard drive itself). I was wondering if anyone else had run into the same odd situation I have?
